Bundesliga: Schalkes Uth goes unconscious after a header duel and has to go to the hospital

After a collision with an opponent, Schalke's Mark Uth lost consciousness during the away game in Augsburg. After dramatic minutes, Schalke gave the first all-clear. Uth is "approachable and stable".

Rescue workers take care of Schalke's Mark Uth

Mark Uth from Schalke 04 may have been seriously injured during the Bundesliga game at FC Augsburg.

After a header duel with Augsburg's Felix Uduokhai, Uth apparently lost consciousness and hit his head on the grass.

The players quickly called for help, and some turned away.

In addition to the medical staff from Schalke and Augsburg, paramedics also ran into the field.

Uth was apparently given an infusion while still on the lawn, Schalke's captain Omar Mascarell held a container over his teammate, as can be seen on TV pictures.

Uth was taken from the place on a stretcher.

As Schalke announced via Twitter, Uth is approachable and stable.

Together with the team doctor, he is on the way to a clinic.

After a ten-minute break, the game was continued in the 20th minute of the game, Can Bozdogan came in for Uth.

Just a few minutes after the game restarted, another Schalke player, Nassim Boujellab, injured his head in a header duel with Uduokhai, but after a brief interruption in treatment he was able to continue playing with a turban.

Referee Manuel Gräfe let play for 15 minutes in the first round.
