Eleven people were killed when a fire broke out in a nursing home in the Russian Republic of Bashkortostan, located in the Urals.
The TASS news agency quoted the press office of the Russian Emergencies Ministry as saying today that the fire broke out yesterday evening on an area of 162 square meters in a special care home in the Abzelovsky area.
A spokesman for the emergency services stated that the careless handling of the fire was the primary reason for its spread, pointing out that an investigation was opened to find out the causes of the accident.
