COUNTERPOINT - If this presidential case makes you think, it is not because of its specificity but because of its impact on public speech. As often, the controversy precedes the analysis.

Emmanuel Macron therefore contracted the Covid.

Like nearly two and a half million of his compatriots.

Of course, there is only one President of the Republic in office;

it is therefore understandable that his case attracts more attention than others.

The outburst of comments at the moment when the Elysee press release fell at 10:28 a.m. could however suggest a national disaster.

Beyond the wishes for a speedy recovery that we can send to the Head of State, as to any person affected by the virus, that we be reassured, there is no vacancy, nor even a slowdown in power.

Macron will not be traveling next week, but, thanks to the phone, videoconference meetings, and all means of communication, he will continue to work;

as before and like all French people who have been forced to telework for many weeks.
