On the occasion of Christmas and New Year's Eve, the Christmas tree was lit in Qamishli in the presence of the masses and officially.
The head of the Qamishli City Council, Suhail Rahawi, said in a statement to SANA's correspondent that lighting the Christmas tree came to celebrate Christmas and New Year's holidays and to emphasize the promotion of a culture of love and peace among the people of one Syrian people and to express confidence in Syria's victory over terrorism and the occupiers.
The two workers in the Qamishli Electricity Department, Muhammad Saeed al-Akoub and Bidwan Baidu, expressed their great happiness in participating in lighting the Christmas tree, as a patriotic act symbolizing unity, love and joy.
The young woman Uri emphasized that lighting the tree is a symbol of reviving life to the city of Qamishli, as it is a symbol of goodness, peace, love and coexistence among citizens for hundreds of years under the umbrella of our beloved Syria, which is the most precious mother in our hearts.
Citizen Jamal Al-Ali expressed his hope that the new year will be a year of return for the expatriates, considering that the meeting of the people of Qamishli today to light the Christmas tree is an expression of the solid national unity among the people of the homeland.
