Argentina authorizes use of Pfizer's vaccine against covid-19

The National Administration of Medicines, Food and Medical Technology of Argentina (Anmat) authorized this Tuesday the registration of "emergency use" of Pfizer's vaccine against covid-19, the announcement was made through a release.

The health entity indicated that this vaccine meets "an acceptable benefit-risk balance," which allowed the granting of registration.

The authorization was granted for a period of one year and will be under the condition of "sale under prescription."

The ANMAT communicated that a risk management plan must be fulfilled, in addition to communicating progress reports to the National Institute of Medicines (Iname).

This Tuesday, an Aerolineas Argentinas flight departed from the Ezeiza International Airport to Moscow, where it will collect the first doses of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine.

The country's Ministry of Health reported this Tuesday a total of 1,555,279 cases of covid-19 and 42,254 deaths from causes related to the coronavirus.
