The Senate of Argentina approved this Wednesday the bill that decriminalizes abortion.
A crowd gathered around the Congress to celebrate the news while others protested against the decision.
Pope Francis did not speak directly on the subject, but said that life has to be given thanks.
"All we have is a gift, a gift, we are alive because someone has loved us before," said pontiff.
