(ANSA) - ROME, 01 JAN - A seismic sequence is underway in these hours in the northern province of Catania, on the slopes of Etna. Among the latest earthquakes, a 3.8 magnitude was recorded at 22:54 yesterday.
According to the findings of the National Institute of Geophysics and Evulcanology (Ingv), the earthquake had a hypocenter at 12 km of depth; the epicenter was 5 km north-east of Ragalna and 21 north-west of the Sicilian provincial capital.
There is no damage to people or things. So far there have been at least 15 earthquakes (of magnitude no less than 2) recorded in the area since 20:59 yesterday. (HANDLE).
