(ANSA) - VATICAN CITY, 03 JAN - The Pope renewed his wishes for the year that has just begun at the Angelus.

"As Christians we flee from the fatalistic or magical mentality. We know that things will go better to the extent that, with God's help, we work together for the common good by focusing on the weakest, the disadvantaged. We do not know what 2021 will bring but what that each of us and all of us together can do is to commit ourselves a little more to take care of each other and of creation, our common home ", said Pope Francis.

"It is true, there is the temptation to take care only of one's own interests, to continue waging war for example, to concentrate only on the economic profile, to live hedonistically, that is, trying only to satisfy one's own pleasures. instead "a special greeting to those who start the new year with greater difficulties: to the sick, the unemployed, to those who live in situations of oppression or exploitation".
