Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Abbas Araghchi assured that his country will not return to the nuclear agreement until all sanctions imposed on it during the past four years are lifted.

Araghchi said in a TV program that “resuming the enrichment process at a rate of 20 percent is legal under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and the Treaty of Safeguards as well as under the nuclear agreement and does not mean the death of the nuclear agreement,” noting that the International Atomic Energy Agency was informed of this.

Araghchi added, "If the Europeans want to preserve the nuclear agreement, it is better to correct their course and deviations, and then they will see that Iran will return to its obligations. The way to preserve the nuclear agreement is for the Western parties to return to fulfill their obligations in the nuclear deal, including lifting the embargo."

Araghchi reiterated that his country will not accept "any new negotiation or American preconditions on the agreement," calling on Western countries to abandon the idea of negotiating with Tehran over its missile capabilities and its regional role.
