The new drivers began work since the weekend, according to the Department of Transport of the Russian capital.
Authorities expect 50 more women to join their ranks next year.
Women have been allowed to drive trains on the metro network since 1936, but in the early 1980s a ban on hiring new female drivers was imposed.
