Social networks: What is talking?

The giants Google, Apple and Amazon have cut ties with the social network, criticizing it for its lack of moderation in dangerous comments.

Created in 2018 as an alternative to mainstream social networks, Parler has always presented itself as a haven of freedom of expression.

It is this positioning that is now worth it to be threatened with disappearance.

In question, not a court decision but the will of Google, Apple and Amazon to cut the bridges with what has become the refuge of the most zealous supporters of Donald Trump, and a spillway of extremist remarks and not very moderate conspirators.

Google unplugged the plug first by removing the app from its Play Store on Saturday.

Apple followed suit a few hours later by banning Parler from the AppStore.

The brand specifies that Parler will return to the application store when it has put in place effective and lasting moderation measures.

But the biggest blow comes from Amazon.

The giant has decided to no longer host Parler on its AWS cloud from Monday morning.

The social network must therefore urgently find a new cloud provider.
