It's hard to say it's a surprise - but today (Friday) it happened: Remas Cortinaitis was fired from Moscow Khimki training.

The Russian team breaks negative records one after the other, and is ranked last in the Euroleague with an 18: 2 balance.

Now, having been humiliated 99:60 by Anadolu Zero, the Lithuanian coach is paying the price.

Cortinaitis' assistant, Alexander Tryponovich, will take his place and be appointed interim coach.

The Serb was recently appointed by the group's management, replacing the Lithuanian aides.

Himki has invested quite a bit of money this season, trying to thicken the firepower alongside Alexei Sheved - with Eric McCollum in the back line, alongside Jordan Mickey and Greg Monroe in the front line, who have joined Jonas Jervko and Devin Booker.

The team suffered a Corona outbreak at the start of the season, leaving it with just six rotation players in the first Euroleague rounds.

Fearing to suffer technical losses, she showed up for the games - and was defeated.

After that, the team failed to stop the deterioration and continued to pile up defeats and losses.

Cortinaitis is the third coach to be sacked this season in the Euroleague, after Sasha Oberdovic, who was replaced by Diam Radonic at the Red Star in Belgrade, and Giorgios Voboras, who was replaced by Oded Katash at Panathinaikos.
