Netherlands: police seize cocaine worth 30 million euros

Employees discovered 750 kilograms of cocaine on a company site in the Netherlands.

The drugs, with an estimated sales value of around 30 million euros, were hidden in individual packages in a load of goods, the police said.

She was alerted on Friday by the employees of the company in Roosendaal near the border with Belgium and then advanced with several units.

Drug investigators started investigations and there were no arrests at first.

The cocaine has been removed and will be destroyed.

In the Netherlands, large quantities of cocaine have been seized several times in recent years, and the trend is rising.

In 2020 investigators seized more than 40 tons of the drug in the area of ​​the port of Rotterdam alone.

According to a statement from the public prosecutor's office, that was a good 20 percent more than in the previous record year 2019. A total of around 48 tonnes of cocaine were seized in Dutch ports and airports in 2020;

the sales value was estimated at 3.5 billion euros.
