The police arrested two men on Friday who stole cigarettes and groceries in a supermarket in Markt Schwaben that morning.

As the Poing Police Department writes in its press report from the weekend, a supermarket employee observed the thieves putting cigarettes and groceries in their pockets and not paying at the checkout.

Markt Schwaben: Saleswoman wants to confront thieves

Outside in the parking lot, the woman wanted to confront the men, but they fled in a van. The saleswoman notified the police, who immediately started a manhunt. This led to success: "The delivery van of the two shoplifters was stopped and checked by a patrol on the highway," says the report. The stolen goods worth around 80 euros were in the vehicle. The two men (22 and 25 years old), who come from other Eastern European countries, were provisionally arrested.
