US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi called on the Pentagon to suspend Michael Ellis’s appointment as General Counsel for the National Security Agency, expressing doubts about his political bias.
Media quoted Pelosi as saying in a letter to Acting US Defense Secretary Christopher Miller: “I ask you to immediately halt plans to incorrectly appoint Michael Ellis as a new general adviser to the National Security Agency,” indicating that it will demand an investigation into how Ellis chose this position.
Pelosi also questioned the Pentagon's statements regarding the absence of any political interference in this case, confirming the presence of information indicating that Ellis was nominated for this position with interference from the White House, especially that he was involved in suspicious activities and tried to hide information related to the outgoing President Donald Trump's contact with his Ukrainian counterpart.
