Syrian-Iraqi talks to develop academic relations between the universities of the two countries

The Iraqi Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabil Kazem Abd Al-Saheb, and the Syrian ambassador to Baghdad, Satam Jadaan Al-Dandah, discussed ways to develop academic cooperation between the two countries and chart paths of understanding between Iraqi and Syrian universities.

A statement of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, a copy of which was received by the SANA correspondent in Baghdad, said that Minister Abdel-Saheb expressed the possibility of developing scientific relations between the two countries according to an academic program that meets the vision and proposals that serve the desired scientific goals of both sides in terms of primary and higher studies and joint and automated supervision.

In turn, Ambassador Al-Dandah stressed the importance of developing the horizon of cooperation between Iraq and Syria scientifically, academically and culturally, and achieving the aspirations of the universities of the two countries.

In a statement to SANA's correspondent in Baghdad, he said that the meeting discussed activating memoranda of understanding between the two countries, exchanging academic experiences, participating in scientific research and conferences, exchanging scientific visits, student visits to universities, awarding scholarships for postgraduate studies, in addition to discussing the conditions of private universities and equivalence of certificates.
