The Republic Championship for clubs and sports houses, which are open for males and females, for fighting and individual and collective kata for the age groups under 14, 16 and 18 years, will begin tomorrow in the closed hall in Tishreen Sports City in Damascus and will last for three days.

The President of the Game Federation, Jihad Mia, explained that this tournament is the first internal activity for this year after the local championships were interrupted last year due to the measures and precautionary measures to confront the spread of the new Corona virus, indicating that the aim of its establishment is to select the talented players and players in preparation for participation in the upcoming external benefits.

Mia stressed that the club tournaments and open sports houses increase the players' contact because each player will play more than one match until he qualifies for the final round, which leads to the discovery of new talents that will be polished and paid attention to because they hope to reach the world in the future, pointing out that the tournament is held within the plan of the Game Federation For the year 2021, with the aim of the continuous building of the game's cadres, which is a mirror that reflects the work of referees, coaches, technical, organizational and administrative committees, as there will be a specialized organizational cadre and more than fifty referees distributed on more than one carpet to make the right decisions and to exit the championship without errors.

Mia pointed out that the closing ceremony of the tournament will take place next Saturday at 4 o'clock in the Tishreen Sports Hall and will witness a sporting and cultural demonstration, several paragraphs and performances in the sport of karate, noting the great support provided by the President of the General Sports Federation, Firas Mualla, to improve work and return the game to a better than it was previously.
