The Pentagon on Thursday accused the Taliban of not respecting their commitments under the agreement reached with the United States, saying that this weighed on the chances of reaching a peace agreement with the Afghan government.

The Taliban "are
not honoring their commitments,
" said US Department of Defense spokesman John Kirby.
"
As long as they do not respect their commitment to renounce terrorism and to put an end to the violent attacks against the Afghan army (...), it is very difficult to see how to reach a negotiated settlement
".
