The Council, meeting in the council chamber, examined the question of the recognition of the status of children for those born using a medically assisted heterologous procreation technique, practiced abroad by two women.

Pending the filing of the sentence, the Press Office of the Court makes it known that the matter has been declared inadmissible.

In the absence of a discipline applicable to the specific case, the Court has deemed, at present, not to intervene and has addressed a strong warning to the legislator to urgently identify the most suitable forms of protection of minors, also in light of international sources.

It was the Court of Padua that raised the question of constitutionality.

The Venetian judges had found a lack of protection in the presence of a conflict situation of the couple, which made, among other things, the use of "non-legitimizing adoption" impracticable.
