Geneva - Sana

The International Atomic Energy Agency announced that it had informed Iran of its intention to suspend the implementation of voluntary measures under the nuclear agreement on February 23, including the Additional Protocol.

Agency director Raphael Grossi said in a statement carried by Fars news agency that he will travel to Iran to discuss finding a solution that would allow the agency to continue its basic verification activities.

The permanent representative of Iran to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Kazem Gharibabadi, announced yesterday that he delivered the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency the message to stop the voluntary actions of Iran under the nuclear agreement, while the Iranian government confirmed earlier today that the suspension of the voluntary implementation of the additional protocol in the additional nuclear agreement is taking place. According to Article VI of the Strategic Procedure Law approved by the Islamic Consultative Assembly, which does not necessarily mean severing cooperation with the IAEA.
