The risk analysis and crisis management consultancy Etellekt presented its report on political violence in Mexico of the 2020-2021 electoral process, and the figures are alarming. One of the most shocking data is that acting mayors have become the main target of attacks in the first five and a half months of the electoral process. However, Etellekt foresees that the trend will be reversed after the start, development and conclusion of political campaigns, when the violence focuses on candidates for elected positions. Mexicans go to the polls on June 6 to renew the Chamber of Deputies, 15 governorships and thousands of mayors as well as local councils.
