Ronald Koeman: "You have to be realistic" 2:06

(CNN Spanish) -

On Wednesday, Colo-Colo avoided relegation to the second division of Chilean soccer.

The biggest club in Chile played its permanence in the first category against Universidad de Concepción, and took the victory by 1 to 0. The saving goal arrived at 19 minutes, through the Argentine Pablo Solari.

That single goal allowed the club to dodge what would have been its first relegation in its 96-year history.

Although the majority of supporters stood by the club's side at the worst moment in its history, before the defining match, a banner was posted outside the club complex that read: "They win or we kill them."

The Chilean giant eluded the same "ghost of the B" that caused South American giants such as River Plate, Palmeiras, América de Cali or Independiente de Avellaneda to stumble over the last decade.
