Argentine President Alberto Fernández asked Health Minister Ginés González García to resign, due to the scandal about possible influence peddling for the vaccination of officials and friends of the ruling party against COVID-19, they told CNN two sources of the Casa Rosada.

Hours earlier, the journalist Horacio Verbitsky said in radio statements that he had received the first dose of the Sputnik V vaccine at the Ministry of Health after calling González García, whom he considers his friend.

CNN has tried to communicate with González García and with spokesmen for the Ministry of Health to obtain a reaction to these accusations, but so far it has not received a response.
