"My father beat my mother. It happened in my presence. But she canceled herself in his face," claims the daughter of the late writer Amos Oz in her new book, which was published this morning (Sunday) and immediately caused a stir.

The family denied the allegations.

"In cases where he dared to show anger and pain, he trampled and silenced her," Galia Oz added in the first chapter of the book "Something Disguised as Love."

She later wrote: "When it came to me they were one front. She cooperated with him and found excuses to keep me away. I was rejected and hated, but they did not give up on me completely. Tyranny needs sacrifices, and I, like all beaten children, came back again and again to ask for closeness, hopefully That something will change. "

"There was terrorism in the house, and there was constant pretense in front of strangers. I write the word terrorism because the threat of violence has always been in the air," the author noted.

Family Response: (1/2)

We, Nili, Fanya and Daniel, knew another father.

A warm, cordial, attentive father, who loved his family with a soul-love full of care, devotion and sacrifice.

Most of the accusations that Galia throws at him now completely contradict the intense memory that has been imprinted on us throughout our lives.

Galia decided to sever all contact with us about seven years ago.

Earlier today, her older sister Panya Oz denied the serious allegations and posted a response on behalf of the brothers.

"We, Nili, Fanya and Daniel, knew another father. A warm, cordial, attentive father who loved his family with a soul full of concern, devotion and sacrifice. Most of the accusations that Galia throws at him now completely contradict the strong memory that has been imprinted on us throughout our lives."

"Galia decided to cut off all contact with us about seven years ago," he said in response. "The allegations she made at the time caught us all by surprise. Although he did not identify himself with her accusations, Dad tried and hoped until his last day to talk to her and understand her. "He and we are against reality. Galia's pain is probably real and heartbreaking, but we remember differently. It's completely different."
