Robert Contee III, chief in charge of the Washington Police Department, in the District of Columbia, presented his diagnosis to the Senate on the security problems during the insurrection day of January 6.
He said he asked the Pentagon for help when supporters of former President Trump stormed the Capitol, but the response was late.
