The German national handball team clearly won the second game of the Olympic qualification.

Alfred Gíslason's team did easier against Slovenia, who finished fourth in the European Championship, than the day before when they drew against Sweden and won 36:27 (22:12).

The DHB team now has the best chances of getting one of the two tickets for Tokyo at the four-way tournament in Berlin.

The top scorer in the German team was again Marcel Schiller with seven goals.

Germany's Sunday (3:45 p.m., TV: ZDF) with a draw against Algeria is enough to safely make it to the Summer Olympics.

The first and second placed in the four-tier tournament qualify for Tokyo.

The German team was superior from the start, was accurate on the offensive and difficult to overcome defensively.

Above all, goalkeeper Andreas Wolff excelled with numerous saves, including a seven meter saved.

Before that, the defense with Hendrik Pekeler and Johannes Golla in the inner block was good.

The Flensburg Golla was surprisingly preferred to Patrick Wiencek and was also in the offensive again and again.

After a balanced start phase, Germany achieved four goals within 120 seconds with a score of 4: 5 to 8: 5.

From then on, the DHB team no longer gave up leadership.

Mt 22:12 was the break.

In the second half, the German handball players failed to score for almost ten minutes.

Slovenia was able to shorten the gap a bit, but victory was no longer in danger.
