(ANSA) - NEW YORK, MARCH 27 - The United States fears that China is flirting with the idea of taking control of Taiwan. "China appears to be moving from a period of appreciation of the status quo over Taiwan to one in impatience and preparation to test limits and flirt with the idea of unification," says a US administration official with Financial Times. Fears are intensified by the long-awaited third term of Chinese President Xi Jinping, who may see the "progress in Taiwan as a crowning achievement of his legitimacy and legacy.
