(ANSA) - NAPLES, 27 MAR - "With the pandemic we have discovered a more reactive, cohesive, less individualistic society. This society must not be disappointed: and therefore we must not continue making mistakes".
This was stated by Sabino Cassese, emeritus judge of the Constitutional Court, speaking at the meeting on "Lasedia to be moved. The organizational challenges of a State", organized by the training school for "Political Architects" PolìMiNa ("Politics Milan-Naples").
Two solutions identified by Cassese: "We must shorten the state with all its procedures and times that are too long. And then it takes 'a hundred men of steel'. We need a few people but as long as they are right. Too many cooks make a bad kitchen".
Cassese pointed the finger at the many critical issues of the Italian Public Administration.
Recalling that "in Italy the southern and administrative issues have been linked together in the course of history", he condemns, starting from the vaccination campaign, the "archipelago state" determined by the Regions.
"The State-Regions Conference is like a child who has not yet grown up. It could have been a Bundesrat in a nutshell but no one had the convenience of using it in the right way, preferring to be on the news every evening and to have the work of the pupils we witnessed for a year done", he concluded.
