The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority implemented a training course for 15 working wives and daughters in the Damascus branch and its countryside in the field of sewing and tailoring of clothes.

Khaldoun Jeroudi, director of the commission’s branch in Damascus and its countryside, confirmed in a statement to SANA that the course comes within the program to improve the standard of living of the working family by ensuring additional sources of income for it through training a member of the worker's family, as part of the agreement signed with the General Federation of Trade Unions.

Jeroudi indicated that this course was implemented in a sewing factory in the Moadamiya area, through which the women learned the beginner sewing techniques that qualify them to work in this profession, indicating that during the coming period, advanced sewing courses will be implemented for those wishing to develop work from them.

Giraudy explained that the course was concluded by conducting practical tests for the participants to see the extent of the benefits they got, such as drawing on the computer and making shirts and bags using the existing technologies.

It is noteworthy that the Authority’s branch in Damascus and its countryside is currently working on preparing for several vocational and professional courses in various fields, such as maintenance of cellular devices, air conditioning and cooling for women’s haircut, accounting, and courses for entrepreneurs for entrepreneurship.
