A serious accident between a private vehicle and an empty bus occurred at the Komemiyut junction in the south of the country. • 3 passengers were caught in their train and needed to be rescued.

Three women in their 20s were seriously injured last night (Sunday) in a car accident between a bus and a private vehicle on Road 40 at the Komemiyut junction in the south of the country.

Firefighters from the Kiryat Gat station rushed to the scene and worked to rescue the women trapped in the vehicle, which hit light poles and overturned.

After the rescue, MDA teams that arrived at the scene began treating the women and evacuated them to Soroka Hospital. The 45-year-old bus driver was moderately injured and was taken to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon.

MDA paramedic Israel Lugsi said: "The three seriously injured were trapped in the opposite vehicle while conscious and suffering from all parts of their bodies. During the rescue operations, we provided them with medical treatment. One of the injured was evacuated in an intensive care unit to Soroka Hospital and two others were evacuated by MDA helicopter that landed at the stadium in Kiryat Gat. The driver of the bus, who was moderately injured, was taken to Barzilai Hospital.
