(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 10 - "An anonymous airline, of regional dimensions, with an industrial plan with modest objectives imposed by the Directorate-General for Competition of the European Commission would bring Italy back 75 years and that is not to have, within the next two years, a national airline ".

It is the altolà that comes from the general secretaries of Filt-Cgil, Fit-Cisl and Uiltrasporti Stefano Malorgio, SalvatorePellecchia and Claudio Tarlazzi, who commenting on the news on Alitalia, which appeared this morning in some newspapers, speak of "inestimable damage to the country", if confirmed.

The new scheme - to resume negotiations with Brussels - should provide for the abandonment of the old Alitalia brand (possibly recovering by participating in a tender), a cut of the areas to 43-45 and 2,850 employees for the new Ita (26% of the current ones) to be summarized, however, after a selection and with a new contract.

For the others there would be an extension of the Cigper 5 years and a slide for retirement.

"In order not to waste the 3 billion available to the new Alitalia - the unions insist - an industrial plan is needed that is adequate for the market in which it must compete, so a bonsai company would be knocked out even before starting the competition".

For Filt-Cgil, Fit-Cisl and Uiltrasporti "at least 100 aircraft and an industrial plan to strengthen cargo are needed, given that demand has grown a lot with the pandemic, and that it positions itself on the most profitable long-haul routes".
