The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, announced important changes in his economic team for the second half of his government.

The president informed that he will propose the current Secretary of Finance and Public Credit, Arturo Herrera, for the position of governor of the Bank of Mexico.

To replace Herrera, López Obrador proposes the economist Rogelio Ramírez de la O. Both proposals need to be ratified by the Senate of the Republic and the Chamber of Deputies, respectively.
