(ANSA) - WARSAW, 03 JUL - Donald Tusk, former president of the European Council (2014-2019) today resumed the leadership of his Polish party of origin Civic Platform (Po) which has been the largest opposition party since 2015. "I came back to defeat the evil that Kaczynski's government did to Poland," said Tusk, 64, in an excited speech, delivered at the start of the Po convention today in Warsaw.

Former President of United Europe criticized the Law and Justice (Pis) party for weakening Poland's international position, in particular for conflicts with neighboring countries and with the entire European Union.

According to him, Kaczynski has been preparing the "agendarussa" for Europe for years and is leading the country towards areas of various risks. "You have whom to lose, we are going to win again" Tusk warned, recalling the next political elections scheduled in about two and a half years.

At the head of the Po Tusk replaces the current president BorysBudka, who has resigned. (HANDLE).
