Jeff Bezos, the richest person in the world, is about to launch on a supersonic journey to the edge of space aboard Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket. He will be traveling with his brother Mark Bezos;
Wally Funk, an 82-year-old pilot and one of the women from "Mercury 13";
and a recent 18-year-old high school graduate named Oliver Daemen, who will be the first paying customer aboard New Shepard.
The journey will begin from the Blue Origin facility in remote terrain near Van Horn, Texas, about two hours from El Paso.
The 11-minute flight will soar more than 60 miles above Earth.
