President-elect Pedro Castillo gave a passionate speech in Lima after he was proclaimed the winner of the June 6 election.
According to figures from the ONPE, the candidate received 8,836,380 votes.
Castillo asked his opponent, Fuerza Popular leader Keiko Fujimori, not to put up more barriers or obstacles to move Peru forward.
