Photos circulated on the Internet. A false ceiling collapsed at MTR Diamond Hill Station at 5 o'clock this (10th) evening. Visual inspection of a metal false ceiling about 1 meter by 2 meters on the Tuen Ma Line towards Tuen Mun. The platform collapsed. Fortunately, no passengers were injured.

The MTR sent personnel to seal up the accident site, remove the collapsed false ceiling and carry out works, sealing the location where the ceiling fell with tape.

The platform that caused the accident has been in operation for less than two months since the Tunma line was opened to traffic on June 27 this year.

When the MTR responded to the enquiry, at about 5 pm today, a passenger informed the staff that the ceiling near the 6th card at Platform 3 (towards Tuen Mun) of the Tuen Ma Line had loosened and then fell to the ground at the station. The staff immediately went to the scene to find out and saw a metal false ceiling on the ground.

No one was injured in the incident. Staff immediately enclosed the affected area and train services were not affected.

The MTR once suspended the use of the No. 2 screen gate of the No. 6 card on the No. 3 platform.

The engineering personnel have checked the ceiling in this location in detail and unblocked the relevant area after determining the safety.

MTR said that the company attaches great importance to this incident, and the engineering staff will continue to follow up and investigate the cause of the accident, and will continue to check all the same types of smallpox in the network after the train is received tonight.
