Kabul-Sana

The Afghan Taliban movement announced today that it has taken control of the strategic city of Ghazni in eastern Afghanistan, getting closer and closer to the capital, Kabul, which was confirmed by the government.

AFP quoted a spokesman for the Afghan Interior Ministry, Mirwais Stanikzai, as saying in a message to the media via the WhatsApp application that the Taliban had taken control of Ghazni, indicating that the battles were still continuing.

The Taliban movement recently took control of large areas of Afghanistan, including important cities and border crossings, in conjunction with the US administration's announcement of the withdrawal of its soldiers from this country after an occupation that lasted about two decades and completely drained Afghanistan and plunged it into a cycle of chaos and violence.
