Colombian businessman Alex Saab was arrested on June 12, 2020 in Cape Verde while traveling from Venezuela to Iran, under a US extradition order, where he is accused of bribery of Venezuelan officials and money laundering.
Since then, the supposed "financier" and "front man" of the questioned president of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro remains in Africa.
Saab denies committing these crimes.
