After the taking of Kabul and while Joe Biden's government receives criticism for having withdrawn US troops from Afghanistan, the US Department of the Treasury has taken steps to ensure that the money managed by the Federal Reserve and other US banks is out out of the reach of the Taliban.
Most of the reserves of the Central Bank of Afghanistan are not within the country.
