Berlin -

The parties have come to an agreement in the collective bargaining dispute between Deutsche Bahn and the train drivers' union. This is reported by the

Bild newspaper

and the Reuters news agency. The union and the railway initially declined to comment. However, Bahn Personnel Director Martin Seiler and GDL boss Claus Weselsky have invited to a joint press conference for today at 10.30 a.m. Then the negotiators could announce details of a possible settlement.

In addition to Weselsky and Seiler, the Prime Ministers of Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein, Stephan Weil (SPD) and Daniel Günther (CDU), also take part. The former rail arbitrator Bodo Ramelow had already said in the morning via Twitter: "The results will be available at 10.30 am and two colleagues of mine have done a really good job." It was only at the weekend that the railroad had submitted an extended offer to the union.

More soon.
