About 100 young people from Ukraine will land in Israel this evening (Wednesday) on a special flight of the Jewish Agency in cooperation with Keren Hayesod.

The young people will participate in the SLA program for ages 18-17 (students before parents) and the NALA program (immigrant youth before parents) and will be integrated into a variety of immigration and education programs, including integration in kibbutzim.

Symbolically, the flight will take off on the day an international state event is held in Ukraine, in the presence of leaders from Israel and around the world, in memory of those who perished in Babi Yar.

The event takes place 80 years after the shocking massacre of the Jews of Kiev in which more than 33,000 men, women, children and babies were murdered.

The chairman of the World Zionist Organization and the acting chairman of the Jewish Agency, Yaakov Hagoel, met with the immigrants in Kiev before taking off and said: "Your aliyah this week has a symbolic and value meaning. "You are Jews. You are the symbol of the victory of good over evil, justice over hatred."

Keren Hayesod chairman Sam Grundwar, who will accompany the immigrants on their flight to Israel, noted: "Every immigrant plane symbolizes the construction of more new homes in Israel.

It's exciting every time. "

The immigrants arrived with the help of Ofek Israel and with the support of Keren Hayesod, thanks to the donation of friends who love Israel from Kenneth Copeland Church.

From the beginning of the year to the end of September, more than 2,000 immigrants from Ukraine immigrated to Israel, similar to the number of immigrants from the country in the corresponding period last year.
