Dramatic mission on the Taubenstein: For reasons that have not yet been clarified, a 70-year-old hiker crashed on the Taubenstein.

For him any help came too late.

Schliersee - The hiker, whose personal details are still unclear, was traveling alone when he fell on a gully on the north-west side of the Taubenstein.

Three young men who wanted to climb a rock there found the victim and alerted the mountain rescue service at around 1 p.m.

According to Lorenz Haberle, press spokesman for the Schliersee mountain rescue service, the scene of the accident is not a particular hazard, and he is not aware of any fatal crashes there.

“But of course you can always slip,” says Haberle.

The mountain rescue service is on duty with five rescuers, which is still ongoing.

In addition, three members of the Bavarian Mountain Rescue Service are on site, a police mountain guide and a rescue helicopter from Murnau.
