The United States Border Patrol reported that in fiscal year 2021, which spans from October 2020 to last September, it recorded a record number of migrant deaths in the southwest of the border with Mexico.
The increase occurs when border crossings from Mexico to the United States by undocumented migrants also reach historic figures.
