Lebanese Deputy Prime Minister Saadeh Al-Shami criticized the measures taken by the Saudi regime and some Gulf countries against Lebanon against the backdrop of the crisis in relations between Lebanon and a number of Arab countries.

In a televised interview tonight, Al-Shami indicated that the current crisis is affecting more Lebanese agricultural and industrial exports, and that the Gulf measures "were somewhat harsh because they will affect all Lebanese."

However, Al-Shami said, "We are not in a dead end yet in dealing with the emerging situation and we want better relations with Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states in general," noting that work is underway to find solutions to a "passing" problem.

The Saudi regime had protested against old statements made by the Lebanese Minister of Information, George Qardahi, before assigning him to his post, in which he demanded to stop the war waged by the Saudi regime on Yemen, stressing that it is aggression.
