(ANSA) - NEW YORK, NOV 03 - After Bob Dylan, Neil Young and PaulSimon, Bruce Springsteen is also selling his music.

Negotiations for the sale to Sony of the rights to the recorded songs of the "Boss" are in the pipeline, while there are still points to file for the sale of the song catalog.

'Billboard' learned it, confirmed by 'Variety'.

Springsteen has worked with Columbia Records (which belongs to Sony) since 1972 but at some point in his career, while revising a contract, he bought all the rights to his music.

Until a few years ago it was very rare for musicians to sell their catalogs.

The trend has become more and more frequent in the months of the pandemic, as the greats of rock age and begin to plan the succession by monetizing on behalf of the heirs on their artistic production.

Dylan, it has been learned, sold his entire catalog to Universal Music last year for an estimated $ 300 million, while Paul Simon sold the rights to 60 years of songs to Sony, Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac and 'to Bmg and also Dolly Parton thinking about doing it.
