After the legislative council election has undergone a major restructuring, the district direct elections are divided into 10 districts, and the "double-seat single-vote system" is implemented. In the current political climate, even if non-organized people succeed in entering the gate, it is not easy to break through.

New Thinking Vice Chairman Huang Junlang participated in the election of the Northwest New Territories constituency, slamming the two incumbent members of the Democratic Alliance for Betterment of Hong Kong, Zhou Haoding and Shizheng Roundtable Tian Beichen.

In an exclusive interview with "Hong Kong 01", Huang Junlang stated that the outside world accused him of "accompanying the run" as unfair. He believed that he was young, dared to criticize the government, and concerned about the issue of land justice behind the development of New Territories North, which is an alternative choice for voters.

He also criticized the two opponents by name, saying that they, as establishments, failed to perform their function of monitoring the government well in the past. He even described the DAB as a "responsible bug" and would only follow the government.

In response, Zhou Haoding questioned that Huang Junlang followed the previous method of dragging down the government by the opposition, and wanted to slander the DAB. This is not "new thinking."

Interview with Candidates of the Northwest New Territories Constituency of the Legislative Council

Mainly stick to places, connect with civil society, show public opinion pressure

Huang Junlang originally planned to elect Kowloon West, but eventually changed to the Northwest New Territories to run for the election. He emphasized that in the process of considering the transfer, he was not pressured by any nominator. He sincerely believed that there was a chance of winning in the Northwest New Territories. "No nominee asked for it. I transferred to the district and communicated most with non-organizational people. Everyone hopes to unite and get the largest seats. I don’t want too many non-organizational people to participate in the election. I think I have enough chances of winning, personal situation, quality, and political spectrum. They are different from the two rivals. In short, this statement (accompanied by running) must be unfair.”

He believes that the new thinking differs from other factions in that it will dare to further use public opinion, link civil society, state the facts, let the citizens judge right and wrong, and put forward opinions to the government, exert public pressure, and even more. "Post to the ground."

He believes that even if civil society has experienced a low ebb in the past two years, there is still much to be done in the field of people’s livelihood policy: "In addition to political fields, civil society also has a lot of work to do, such as focusing on disadvantaged groups and groups of people with disabilities. There are different societies. Welfare issues, these establishments have neglected in the past."

Huang Junlang admits that even if he is elected in the future, the non-organizational system will only be a minority in the parliament. "Count the votes" will lose. But since the reunification in 1997, this is an objective fact. However, multiple voices are necessary in the Legislative Council. It is the general public in Hong Kong that is putting pressure on the government. We must rekindle the people's heart and motivation to participate in all government policies."

Concerned about the "90 Zhou Haoding" of the Legislative Council

Huang Junlang pointed out that what voters face in this election is the difference between "whether there is a choice or not." He believes that Zhou Haoding and Tian Beichen have no choice for the general public. Going with the government is an "acceptor". I would describe the DAB like this. As for Tian Beichen, in 2019, he claimed to take the "middle-moderate" route and wanted to get the middle vote, but in fact he was also a "organizational speculator." Supporters of the establishment will not like him either. Both sides are not human."

He pointed out that the Finance Committee of the Legislative Council approved 327.8 billion yuan in the 2020/21 session and passed a project in an average of 46 minutes. I believe that the public can see that the strength of the establishment supervision government cannot meet the expectations of the outside world. He also commented on two opponents, Tian Beichen. For the opponents, "Dare to speak and do not dare to do", Zhou Haoding said, "Dare to speak or do not dare to do." The development of society is actually not helpful. I believe that the people who still stay in Hong Kong will pay attention to the development of Hong Kong. Just imagine what would happen if all 90 (Members) in the Legislative Council were Zhou Hao Ting?"

Huang Junlang continued to criticize by name. Zhou Haoding was involved in many controversial incidents in the past, which may have made the public doubt his ability and willingness to monitor the government: "For example, when investigating the Liang Zhenying UGL case, as the vice chairman of the investigation committee, he even contacted the subject of investigation privately and let the other party The revised content is that the entire establishment is escorting him so that he does not need to be further investigated and condemned. In the development of New Territories North, he used to be a legal consultant for a consortium and has close relations with the rural sect. These are all public information. Future development Will there be conflicts of interest in New Territories North?"

New Thinking Chairman Di Zhiyuan participated in the election of the functional constituency of the social welfare sector of the Legislative Council (the opponents in the same sector are Zhu Liling and Ye Zhanxi), and the vice chairman Huang Junlang participated in the election of directly elected seats in Northwest Kowloon.

Promote the righteousness of the land: do not want the northern metropolitan area to become a "copy of the northeastern New Territories"

Huang Junlang mentioned that the constituency in the northwestern New Territories where he settled is located in the northern metropolitan area that will be rapidly developed. In principle, of course, he supports development, but he believes that the issue of land justice in the development process must be addressed squarely.

"The DAB will only say how good the development will be after more than 20 years, but what about land resumption? How to ensure that the process is fair and just? Since this is a long-term vision, why not consult more openly and allow young people to participate more actively. The planning process? Remember, this northern metropolitan area is developed for the future of young people."

For example, he pointed out that real estate developers are hoarding land in the New Territories. It is worrying that if land resumption compensation is involved in the future, there will be a phenomenon of "excessive price bargaining", and whether the government will "deceive the good and fear the evil" and treat traditional gentry and big The compensation of real estate developers for "relaxing their hands and feet" is very harsh on the powerless and small citizens; will the land resumption process affect the livelihoods of the original residents or farmers?

He cited a counter-example of the development of Northeast New Territories: "Like Ma Baobao Farm (Ma Shi Po Village, Fanling), it has been entangled for 11 years. The compensation and resettlement have not been dealt with so far, but the residents have been asked to move out if they are not resettled. The government will develop in the future. Will it also make small citizens and farmers lose their livelihoods? When the big consortium and squires are bargaining prices, will the government have any way to deal with it? Will it affect the cost of the entire project in the end? What I worry most is that the northern metropolitan area will eventually become There are many unfair phenomena in the development of "Northeast New Territories Replica"."

Huang Junlang promised that if he is successfully elected, he can use his status as a member to continuously monitor and track the development progress of the northern metropolitan area and the issue of land justice: "Of course I will not boast about Haikou, saying that if I am elected, all problems will be solved immediately. This is unrealistic. Yes. But since the facts are in front of us, the establishment has dominated the parliament for more than 20 years, and the government is a "ruling coalition", and having the ability to "direct the heavens" can do nothing, so why not give new faces a chance and use other methods To relieve the people’s troubles? What I want to represent is not the "1%" people, but the "99%"."

I feel the same about the plight of youth: I am born and raised in the 90s

Huang Junlang admits that regional work may not be as strong as a major political party, but believes that it is still possible to promote the political platform and bring out important messages through online channels, so he has confidence in the election project.

"The society now is of course calmer than it was two years ago, but everyone just keeps contradictions in their hearts. It does not erupt like in 2019. It does not mean that the problem has been solved. The return of popular support is the most important thing. I hope that something can be done. Help solve some important social issues and give the next generation a little hope."

He believes that he is also a young man born in the 90s, and he empathizes with the difficulties faced by young people: "I am born and raised in the 90s, a grassroots background. The idea I represent is the future and the next generation. Now everyone is "selling vision, Selling the future", then who cares about the urgent needs of young people? I stand on the same line with young people. The wages of college students have not risen but fallen in the past 20 years, property prices are too high, and young people are not regarded as stakeholders...the problems they face, I'm facing the same, and I'm working hard just like them."

Zhou Haoding: Isn't it new thinking to slander the DAB?

Zhou Hao Ting responded to Huang Junlang’s criticism, saying that the DAB has always raised different opinions on the government, and examples of opposing the government’s practices abound. For example, the Department of Justice proposed in March this year to create supernumerary posts to promote the rule of law. It is convincing that the public money will be used properly. In the end, the government officials agreed to reconsider: "According to him (Huang Junlang), do you think it is right to use the same ten thousand years as before? This will make me very doubtful. The new thinking is actually the same The opposition has some ideas to bring down the government and want to slander the DAB. This is not a "new thinking"? It is an "old thinking". If he really thinks so, I will be a little disappointed."

Regarding the UGL incident, Zhou Haoding said that he had publicly apologized for the incident a long time ago, admitting that he was not politically sensitive. "The Legislative Council also set up an investigation committee on this matter. The investigation result does not constitute any condemnation. The incident has come to an end. If anyone wants to borrow Political sniping against me in this matter is even more inferior."

As for the former consortium, Zhou Haoding responded: "I had left New World before I took office in the Legislative Council. And I worked as a legal consultant in a company, and my job was fair and honest. Back then, the speculators used this to slander me and slander me today. If you want to re-apply the old technique with blood and blood, it is also inferior."

Tian Beichen: The brewing process is ready to exchange opinions, not asking questions at the last minute

Tian Beichen retorted that an appropriation project was never directly submitted to the Finance Committee for discussion, but first through the Panel, then to the Public Works Subcommittee, and finally to the Finance Committee. It could be as short as six months and as long as one year. Officials will exchange opinions back and forth: "I didn’t ask the Finance Committee last to ask questions. I want the government to change things with it early in the morning. For example, the expansion of landfills, our affairs committee opposes it, and the government is forced to do so. He promised to set up incinerators in other districts; Zhongyou, I oppose funding Disney, and also proposed to use the privileged method to investigate the sand middle line project. Recently, Lam Cheng-chung called me to criticize the government for a long time, and I have to be a member of Parliament." He questioned some people "I don’t know how Policy, don't do your homework, just believe in the media if you talk about it."

Regarding "riding the fence," Tian Beichen responded: "If it is extremely yellow or blue, I can understand it. The new thinking says that I am really confused. It is not because he talks too much. So I want to bury others? I am patriotic and love Hong Kong and ask politics rationally.
