Elements of the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Damascus Countryside organized catering seizures that affected bakeries for violations of the disposal of food packets, cessation of work, and convenience and sweets factories for possession of spoiled and expired foodstuffs.
The Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Damascus countryside, Saer Shiha, said in a statement to SANA that a bakery in Jdeidet Artouz was seized for violating the supply of flour with a quantity of 22 bags, each bag weighing 50 kilograms, with the intention of trading it in the black market and other bakeries. In al-Tal, Muadamiya al-Sham, Hujaira, Sabineh and Jerba, with violations of stopping work without informing the directorate, poor manufacturing, and selling bread in numbers.
According to Shiha, the arrests also affected a rest factory in Al-Qazzaz, with the violation of possession of old rest remains with the intention of re-manufacturing, possession of expired materials in an amount of “35” kilograms, and a sweets factory in Artouz, with the violation of possession of spoiled food items in the amount of “100” kilograms of spoiled milk.
