On the occasion of Christmas and New Year's Eve, a celebration was held this evening at the Saint Sarkis Armenian Orthodox Church in Bab Sharqi in Damascus, which included the lighting of the Christmas tree and the opening of the Christmas Charity Bazaar.

In a statement to SANA, Archbishop Armach Nalbandian, the Armenian Orthodox Metropolitan of the Diocese of Damascus and its Dependencies, wished on the birthday of Jesus Christ a blessed year filled with joy and peace and filled with joy and happiness.

Patricia Korolnian, who participated in lighting the tree, pointed out that this festivity is one of the basic ancient rituals, and the charity bazaar, the proceeds of which go to charities, and that most of the products offered are hand-made.

Marie Shatrian explained that participating in the bazaar gives her a boost of hope and optimism, and that continuing her charitable work gives her joy and happiness.4

The celebration included a light and musical show.
