    The Spaniard met again in the semifinal of the World Tennis Abu Dhabi 2021 in the men's singles, at the end of which he was defeated by Andy Murray.

The Scotsman won in two sets for 6-3, 7-5 after 1h50 'of play.

In the final Murray will have to face the Russian Andrei Rublev, victorious over the Canadian Denis Shapovalov.
