The French Julia Simon, already 2nd in the pursuit on Saturday, offered herself a second podium in a row in the Biathlon World Cup by finishing second again during the mass start in Grand-Bornand on Sunday.

After a disastrous start to the season, Simon (25) was therefore full of confidence during this stage at home, the last before the end of the year break.

With an 18/20, the Saisies biathlete was very solid in shooting but she could not do anything against the Swedish Elivra Oeberg, who signed a double after her success on Saturday in pursuit.

At 22, Oeberg established himself as the most serious rival of the Norwegian Marte Olsbu Roeiseland, still at the top of the general classification and who finished 6th.

Russian Kristina Reztsova took 3rd position.
